The Brussels citizen can participate in the city policy in diverse manners.

The citizen of Brussels can participate in the elections, intervene in dialogues or become a member of certain advisory councils.

The City assures a better information to its inhabitants by communicating with them.

The equality of opportunities between all the inhabitants is also a concern of the City of Brussels.

The City also awards honorary titles.

    In the context of the sustainable district contract Bockstael, a call for citizen initiatives is launched each year (2014-2017). The grants range from 500 to 5,000 euros to support civic projects. The deadline for the submission of the initiatives is 22 February 2015.

    Call for projects. Trophy for Social Merit

    The City of Brussels launches a call for innovative biennial projects that contribute to the improvement of working methods in the social sector. This edition of the 'Aron-Samdam and Victor Brichart' Trophy goes to innovative initiatives for the autonomy and/or social ties of the elderly people of the City of Brussels. Projects must be submitted no later than 16 March 2015.
