Change of address

You are moving from another municipality to the territory of the City of Brussels? Or you are moving within the territory of the City of Brussels?

You have to report your new address within 8 working days of your actual installation at the new address, so that we can register you at your new address in the population register.

Once registered, you will receive an invitation to come and update the information on the electronic chip on your identity card or residence permit.

You must be living at your new address, which must be located within the City of Brussels.

Declare a change of address:

  • By e-mail: info@brucity.be, stating:
    • your surname and first name
    • your old address
    • your new address
    • the members of the household concerned
    • and also attach a copy of both sides of your identity card or residence permit
  • On the FPS Home Affairs page, under External site Mon Dossier
  • At the counter of the Administrative Centre of the City of Brussels or at the Liaison Offices in Laeken, Louise, Neder-Over-Heembeek and Haren (no appointment necessary).

Please note: if you are registered as a foreigner in the waiting register or if you have been removed from the register, please contact the Foreigners' Office.
