Biodiversity walks in Brussels

Each year, heritage and biodiversity walks take you to discover the green spaces of Brussels and their unsuspected richness. These walks are organised by the French-speaking Brabant Nature Guides.

With its variety of habitats and resources, Brussels is a haven for many species, some of which are surprising:

  • Did you know that a pair of peregrine falcons nest on one of the towers of the Cathedral of St Michael and St Gudula in Brussels?
  • Did you know that more than 200 species of wild bees live in Brussels?
  • Did you know that the colony of house martins along the Senne, near the port of Brussels, is the second largest in Belgium?

The aim of these walks is to let you (re)discover the city, by giving you a new perspective on the urban nature that surrounds us. Discover the programme for 2024:
