In the spring of 2018, the City of Brussels launched its annual Initiatives for Sustainability project call. Fifteen winners were selected to carry out sustainable development projects. More about the selected projects can be found on the Sustainable Development page (under Project call).
Come to the Bockstael market in Laeken on Saturday 23 February 2019. All children can get free face painting for carnival, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
On 5 October 2019, the Nuit Blanche (meaning 'Sleepless night') returns to Brussels. In preparation, the organization is in search of cultural projects. The application form for the projects must be returned by 27 March 2019 at the latest.
A flower seller has moved into one of the new kiosks that will gradually appear in the pedestrian zone. The kiosk is located at the Boulevard Anspach, opposite the Casino of Brussels.
From 11 February 2019, reconstruction works will start at the Rue Jules Van Praet, the Rue Paul Devaux, and the Boulevard Anspach between the Rue des Pierres and the Rue du Marché aux Poulets (without the Place de la Bourse). These works should be completed by the end of the summer of 2019.
The City of Brussels organizes holidays, courses (culture, sports, music,...) and playgrounds for children.
The next European elections in Belgium will be held on 26 May 2019. Every five years citizens may thus choose their representatives in the European Parliament. Are you a citizen of a country of the European Union? And do you want to vote for candidates from Belgian lists? Then you have to register as a voter (deadline: 28 February 2019).
