Collection of LGBTQIA+ archives

To celebrate 20 years of same-sex marriage, the Archives and Museums of the City of Brussels are collecting objects relating to the history of LGBTQIA+ movements and cultures in Brussels. The collection preferably takes place from 10 May to 1 June 2023. Those who have items and documents can contact the Archives anytime thereafter as well.

Association archives, posters, flyers, correspondence, photographs, flags, clothing, bags, badges or pins, CDs, brochures, books, magazines, newspapers,... can be useful additions to the collections.

All types of items are welcome, as they are essential to preserving the collective memory.

Make a donation?

It is possible to make a donation of archives to the City Archives. On this occasion, an agreement is drawn up with the City Archives, setting out the terms and conditions for consulting the archives and settling questions relating to copyright. Removal costs (transport and packaging) are paid by the Archives of the City of Brussels.

The Archives of the City of Brussels makes every effort to preserve the archives entrusted to it in optimal conditions and thus pass them on to future generations.
