Broadcasting of Euro 2021 matches at cafes and restaurants

The City of Brussels allows cafés and restaurants to broadcast the football matches, with due observance of the coronavirus measures and under certain conditions.

The City of Brussels gives cafés, restaurants and other catering establishments the opportunity to broadcast the matches of Euro 2021 during the entire tournament (from 11 June to 11 July 2021), under the following conditions:

  • The broadcasting of matches on a television screen is permitted, either by turning the screen to the inside of the café or restaurant or by turning the screen to the outside of the café or restaurant on the terrace and within the limits of the latter, with due observance of the Covid protocol applicable to this sector. This means in particular that drinking must be done seated, that the maximum number of guests per table must be observed and that no spectators are allowed outside the terrace.
  • The broadcasting by means of a projector on a white screen is prohibited.
  • Placing beer pumps on the terrace is prohibited.

Report broadcasts on terraces

Cafés and restaurants that want to broadcast matches on their terrace via TV screens must report this to the Horeca Service of the City of Brussels (from Friday 11 June 2021):
