Campaign against sexist insults

The City of Brussels participates in the campaign Sale chienne! (Dirty bitch!) of the 'Touche Pas A Ma Pote' (Hands off! Stop sexism) association. This non-profit organization dedicates itself to battle sexual harassment on the street.

From 8 to 23 July 2018, the various posters of the campaign will appear almost everywhere in the City. Based on the information that 95% of women say they have ever been the victim of sexism in public space and that only 3% of them submit a complaint, the campaign wants to make the public aware of this reality.

In addition, it also informs everyone of the law that came into force in 2014. This law stipulates that those who are guilty of sexism can be fined from 50 to 1000 euros or get a prison sentence of 1 month to a year. The campaign also encourages the victims to make use of this law.
