On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the District Contracts, the City of Brussels is organising a travelling exhibition. It shows a number of projects illustrating the role and impact of the District Contracts on the territory of the City. It also recognises the people who make our neighbourhoods vibrant.
What are District Contracts?
Since 1994, the City of Brussels has started no fewer than 20 District Contracts on its territory. These urban regeneration tools have had a very positive impact on the urban, social and architectural landscape of Brussels by furnishing public spaces, creating housing and collective facilities. They have also enabled the emergence of a social, urban and participatory dynamic, which has contributed to strengthening social connectedness and democratic vitality in neighbourhoods.
