MyBXL maintenance and telephone accessibility

Due to maintenance works, the External site MyBXL citizen portal will be unavailable from Friday 2 December at 1 pm until Saturday 3 December at 7:30 am. Interruptions are still possible on Saturday 3 December. Due to the move of the services of the City of Brussels to the new Brucity Administrative Centre (on 12 December 2022), the waiting time for a telephone answer may be temporarily longer as well.

 

Energy measures for public and Christmas lighting

Due to the energy crisis, the Conference of Mayors (of municipalities in Brussels) decided to take several measures for public lighting and Christmas lights at the end of the year.

The following measures have been taken:

Public lighting

Increased dimming of remote-controlled lights:

  • reducing by 20% on 100% lights
  • reducing by 10% on other lights

Christmas lights

Changes for the Christmas lights: from 8 December 2022 to 8 January 2023, from 5 pm to 11 pm.

Excluding the lights for the Winter Wonders event and Christmas events or markets.

Lighting of the Grand-Place and monuments

Monumental lighting of a decorative nature in public spaces such as the Grand-Place is switched off at 11 pm, as are buildings and monuments owned by the City of Brussels.
