Exhibition. Myriam Louyest - Quelque chose du temps

This event has already passed

From 14 September to 13 December 2019 at the Archives of the City of Brussels.

As part of the Heritage Days on 14 and 15 September, Myriam Louyest is exhibiting in the Archives of the City of Brussels: Quelque chose du temps is a contemporary art exhibition that is inspired by the building of the City archives.

The installations of Myriam Louyest are inspired by their architectural context, by their history and function that ensure that visitors come to see things differently. When she discovered the Archives of the City of Brussels in 2010, the visual artist immediately fell in love with the magic and poetry of the building.

Fragments, spun yarn, glasses, cloths or paper: her creations evoke and suggest Quelque chose du temps, du temps où l'on ne sera plus jamais, the last sentence from Annie Ernaux's novel Les années (translated: that it's about something of the time where we'll never be again). The artworks of Myriam Louyest show the place under a completely different light and reveal details that have been forgotten.

Opening hours

  • from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm (Tuesday to 6 pm)
