House for Youth 'MADO Nord'

A new place for helping young people has opened its doors at the Boulevard Emile Bockstael 114 in Laeken: MADO Nord. It is aimed at young people aged 11 to 22, their families and their immediate environment, as well as experts in youth welfare. It is a space to receive young people, to listen to them and to guide them from different disciplines.

The House for Youth was set up by the External site CPAS of the City of Brussels with the support of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. MADO Nord wants to offer the space to receive young people, to listen to them, to provide them with information and advice and also to orient them. The first assignment is to bring all these services under one roof in response to their questions and needs. Different topics can be discussed:

  • school courses
  • employment
  • housing
  • health
  • mental health
  • debt mediation
  • justice
  • family life
  • ...

Admission is free, anonymous and does not require an appointment. All young people from the Brussels Capital Region can go there. The guidance is provided either individually (conversation, information,...) or in groups (discussion groups, workshops,...). MADO is also a place for exchange and meeting between professionals involved in youth welfare (social workers, doctors, psychologists, lawyers, teachers,...).
