What is it about?
The City of Brussels invests in the isolation of its property. With the Insulation Plan, which began in 2014, the City wants to renew about 65,000 m² of roofs over four years. This investment of 8 million euros in energy-saving measures must provide an annual saving of 500,000 euros over a period of 30 years.
The Insulation plan is part of the Climate Plan of the City of Brussels.
The environment also benefits from the plan. Thanks to better insulation, consumption reduces for heating, resulting in lower greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, residents/users enjoy more comfort because feeling cold inside is being reduced.
The Insulation Plan meets the expectations of sustainable development. At the same time, the initiative ensures that the management costs of the buildings decline. The City therefore fulfills two objectives: the safeguarding of the environment, on the one hand, and using the public money as efficiently as possible, on the other hand.
