LGBTQIA+ Advisory Council
The LGBTQIA+ Advisory Council deals with all situations, issues and problems in Brussels that affect the LGTBQIA+ community.
History
An LGBTQIA+ Advisory Council was established in 2022.
The LGBTQIA+ Advisory Council acts as an advisory body. It considers the specific needs and interests of LGBTQIA+ individuals and makes them known to the Board.
The term 'LGBTQIA+' refers to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual and related persons. The '+' in the LGBTQIA+ acronym is meant to include all people who do not identify wholly or partially with the above 'categories'.
The members are representatives of associations committed to combating discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community, to the visibility of each of the letters of the LGBQTIA+ acronym, to the integration of LGBTQIA+ persons in society, who have their seat on the territory of the City of Brussels and/or actually have activities on the territory of the City.
