Low Emission Zone: new ban since 2022

The Low Emission Zone (LEZ) is applied in Brussels since 1 January 2018. This measure prohibits certain vehicles to drive in Brussels. Since 1 January 2022, the diesel vehicles under the Euro 4 standards are also being banned.

There was a transition period of 6 months, in which offenders only received warnings. Since July 2022, there are fines for vehicles covered by the new restrictions.
