Neder-Over-Heembeek - Mutsaard District Council
Mid-March 2020, a first District Council will be created in the City of Brussels. The Neder-Over-Heembeek - Mutsaard District Council will count 11 citizens and 6 representatives from the local volunteer sector.
What is a District Council?
The District Council wants to build the City together by:
- orienting local, public investments (participation budget of 1 million euros)
- increasing the involvement of citizens
- promoting innovation in the neighborhood
- District Council Regulation (in French)
Composition and designation
On 3 February 2020, 2,000 residents of Neder-Over-Heembeek - Mutsaard received a personal letter. They were chosen by lottery to present themselves as a candidate member.
A second draw will take place with the applications that will be received at the beginning of March. This draw must provide a diversity of profiles in terms of age, place of residence, socio-professional activity, language, gender and educational level. These citizens will be assisted by 6 representatives from the local volunteer sector (selected following a call for applications).
Meetings of the District Council
The members of the District Council will start their one-year mission (after their installation by the City Council) with a first information meeting on 14 March 2020. The District Council will then meet every month.
