New Climate Plan

The City of Brussels is updating its Climate Plan with the aim of being carbon neutral by 2050. To achieve this, it wants to work with the citizens to determine the climate priorities for each neighborhood.

Many examples and solutions can have a direct effect on the daily life of residents in the fight against climate change:

  • preventing heat stress in summer by making a communal area greener or improving water management
  • reducing waste by building collective compost sites
  • reducing costs by purchasing energy together with the neighbors, by recycling, exchanging
  • ...

Citizen meetings

In June 2021, a citizen participation process took place in the various neighborhoods. Everyone could become acquainted with the initiatives of the citizens and the City and decide on solutions in the fight against climate change.
