Ban on big trucks in the city centre

The City of Brussels bans transit traffic of more than 7.5 tons from the Pentagon (city centre).

Soon, transit traffic of 7.5 tons will no longer be allowed in the city centre (within the small ring road). Traffic signs will indicate the ban. The City also cooperates with the navigation systems which will indicate alternative routes.

The city centre of Brussels, with its small winding streets, is not made for heavy freight traffic. The measure must therefore improve road safety and mobility in the city centre. It is also good news for the small streets, which are suffering a lot from heavy truck traffic.
