Orange waste bag mandatory from 1 May 2023
From May 2023, some rules in rubbish collection will change: the orange bag (exclusively for organic kitchen waste) will become compulsory, and in Haren and Neder-Over-Heembeek, the collection of the white rubbish bags will only take place once a week from then on.
The white bags are for residual waste (non-recyclable household waste).
From May 2023, recyclable food waste belongs in the orange bag. Please note that bones and carcasses, oyster and mussel shells, nappies,... do not belong in the orange bags but should go in the white bag.
Plastic packaging waste should be deposited in the blue bag. This was allowed until now, but will become compulsory from 1 May 2023.
Garden waste should be disposed of in the green bag.
