Reconstruction of the central boulevards: new working hours
In September 2017 the official start was given for the redevelopment of the central boulevards. In order to enable citizens and users to enjoy a greener, more liveable and pleasant city centre as quickly as possible, the City of Brussels has decided to speed up the project.
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen has therefore given permission to extend the working hours: from now on, works are allowed on weekdays and during the weekend from 6 am to 6 pm. Until now, the execution of the works was only allowed on weekdays between 7 am and 4 pm. Although the work rate is being considerably increased, the contractor was asked to do everything possible to limit any inconvenience.
The works on the Place De Brouckère (along the side of the UGC cinema complex) and the section of the Boulevard Anspach between the Rue Grétry and the Rue du Fossé aux loups should be completed by mid-2018.
