'Stand with Ukraine, Flags for Democracy and Peace'
This event has already passed
From 3 May to 3 June 2022 at the Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries.
In 2022 in Ukraine, civilians have once again chosen to resist their attackers: they are fighting for democracy, for freedom,... Art at this time must be at the service of peace. That is why the artists Benoit+Bo are displaying their flags for democracy and peace in the Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries.
History of the flags
In 2019, Benoit+Bo were preparing a public art installation in Hong Kong, to support the pro-democracy protesters. They then had the idea of using international maritime language by incorporating into their installation flags which signified "We are in distress - We have received your distress message" and "Bon voyage".
The censors had not seen the hidden messages and the project had been launched. Unfortunately the arrival of Covid-19 canceled everything. Today, the project is being relaunched, at the Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries, this time in support of Ukraine.
