Coronavirus measures

The City of Brussels has taken several decisions in order to best respect the measures of the federal government in the fight against the coronavirus (Covid-19). More info: coronavirus measures by the City of Brussels.

 

Support measures for cafes and bars

The City of Brussels has decided to support the bars and cafes that have to close for a month as part of the measures against the coronavirus.

In addition to the already announced regional aid, the following support measures will be provided by the City of Brussels:

Premium of 2.000 euros

  • A bonus of 2000 euros per closed bar/café and nightclub

The complete application must be submitted before 28 February 2021.

Tenants of the Property Management and CPAS-OCMW

There will be an exemption of at least one month for tenants of the Property Management Agency (Régie foncière - Grondregie) and the Public Welfare Centre (CPAS-OCMW) of the City of Brussels who have to close. The City is calling on private landlords and brewers to do the same.

The City of Brussels has also decided to exempt canteen tenants from its sports infrastructure.

Need social help?

The Public Welfare Centre (CPAS-OCMW) is also there for all traders, employees or workers of the affected bars and cafes (catering staff, waiters, dishwashers, cleaning teams,...) who are experiencing financial difficulties and who are residents of the City of Brussels.
