Coronavirus measures

The City of Brussels has taken several decisions in order to best respect the measures of the federal government in the fight against the coronavirus (Covid-19). More info: coronavirus measures by the City of Brussels. Please note: at the Administrative Centre & liaison offices, all citizens are asked to come alone, maximum 15 minutes before the appointment time, wear a face mask (obligatory) and disinfect their hands.

Temporary extension of terraces and compensation

To support restaurants and cafes (horeca), the City of Brussels may grant a temporary extension of the terrace under certain conditions. This measure has been extended until the end of December 2020. A compensation may cover the costs associated with that extension.

A compensation must cover the costs associated with the extension of the terraces at parking spaces, in the context of the economic recovery plan of the City of Brussels. The amount of the compensation is a maximum of 2,000 euros per establishment unit for the development of terraces and floors.
