What is it about?
URBiNAT is a European project that focuses on the regeneration and integration of underserved city districts in European cities. It is an intervention in the urban environment, thanks to 'nature-based' solutions applied in a participatory manner by the residents and associations of the neighbourhood concerned.
The Versailles and Val Maria (Mariëndaal) districts in Neder-Over-Heembeek are currently part of this European project.
By 2023, the urban development plan will be developed based on an analysis of the neighbourhoods through participatory workshops. This can take various forms, such as the redevelopment of green spaces, actions for more active mobility, and projects for social cohesion or a social and solidarity economy.
