100 years City of Brussels: the Waterproof Marriage

On Saturday 3 July 2021, from 2 pm to 10 pm, at the Quai Béco.

This year, Brussels, Laeken, Neder-Over-Heembeek and Haren are celebrating the 100th anniversary of their fusion. On the occasion of this anniversary, the free event Les Noces d'Eau (Waterproof Marriage) will be organized as part of 1921-2021: 100 years in ups and downs: the inhabitants of the 4 parts of Brussels together celebrate the Waterproof Marriage, a participatory celebration, respecting the health measures in force.

About 50 artists from Brussels will sing, play and dance all day long on board a floating stage that remains at the quay (by Le centre de beauté culturelle UN PEU & la Petite Maison du Peuple).

Four new murals

Three trips by ship or by bike will introduce everyone to the 4 new murals made for the occasion on the banks of the Willebroek Canal by artists from Brussels, in collaboration with the Street Art Trail of the City of Brussels.
