Coronavirus measures

The City of Brussels has taken several decisions in order to best respect the measures of the federal government in the fight against the coronavirus (Covid-19). More info: coronavirus measures by the City of Brussels.


Works at the Place Emile Bockstael and surroundings

The reconstruction of the Place Emile Bockstael and its immediate surroundings will start at the end of 2019 for a period of two years. Preparations will start in January 2019.

The City and the Region invest in this neighborhood for the:

  • beautification of the square
  • greening
  • development of a cozy esplanade for children, pedestrians and cyclists

As part of the sustainable district contract Bockstael.

Preparatory works in 2019

Preparations will start in January 2019. These are carried out according to different successive phases in order to minimize the inconveniences for the users of the neighborhood.

The use of the square is therefore not changed from January to August. The two annual fairs as well as the weekly market will be held according to schedule.
