World Cleanup Day 2023

On Saturday 16 September 2023, between 10 am and 4 pm, at various places in Brussels.
September 16th is World Cleanup Day. Alone, in a group or with the sweeper, clean the streets of Brussels in a good mood!
To mark the occasion, Manneken-Pis will be wearing his sweeping uniform on Wednesday 13 September.

This year, a Cleanup Village will be held at the Place Willems in Laeken, with a range of activities.
On the programme: entertainment, children's games, concerts, awareness-raising stands on public cleaning, waste collection (cleanups), foodtruck, face painting, clowns,...
In addition to the Cleanup Village, the road sweepers of the Cleaning Service will be present at several other locations.
You will have the chance to meet them over a drink and take part in a litter pick between 10 am and 4 pm. Equipment will be provided on site (waste grippers, gloves, bags, vests).

Want to organise your own cleaning action with your neighbours or friends on a day other than 16 September? The City also puts equipment at your disposal and helps you to evacuate collected waste.
Contact the Cleaning Service using the form below to communicate the time, the number of participants, the equipment required and the possible route (to determine one or more drop-off points for the filled bags).

The City of Brussels is organising a competition for the best photo of a clean-up action or collective collection in the city's streets or green spaces on Saturday 16 September 2023.
The winner (individual or association) will receive a prize of 150 euros.
To participate, send your most beautiful photo to embellisseuses@brucity.be or embellisseurs@brucity.be with CONCOURS PHOTO in the subject line, no later than 22 September 2023.
