Exhibition. Moroccan Women - Between Ethics and Aesthetics

From 8 December 2022 to 30 April 2023 at the Jewish Museum of Belgium.

The exhibition Moroccan Women - Between Ethics and Aesthetics looks at the rules of appearance in Moroccan aesthetics, examines the ethics and customs imposed on women, as well as the arguments for these highly codified customs.

For the first time, ancient productions and recent creations enter into dialogue with each other, in a rich narrative journey through a wide range of objects from the 16th century to the present: traditional and religious objects, clothing, ornaments, talismans and jewellery, archival documents, photographs and drawings and orientalist paintings from the Dahan-Hirsch collection,...
