'Leçon de Mode' is a collaboration between the Fashion & Lace Museum and MAD Brussels - Fashion and Design Centre to promote fashion knowledge among the general public and professionals.
His attention drawn by chance to a piece put up for auction in Paris in 2018, Denis Laurent became interested in Jules François Crahay. Why has this Belgian haute couture genius sunk into oblivion? After 5 years of research, Denis Laurent tells us about his quest to restore the reputation of Jules François Crahay.
Exhibition curator and scientific director of Jules Crahay, Rediscovering a Grand Couturier, Denis Laurent is an art historian. He lectures on the history of design at the ENSAV La Cambre college of visual arts and the ULB. He has worked for the Brussels City Museums since 2018.
