Alderman of Finance and Public Cleaning.
Anas Ben Abdelmoumen was elected in October 2024 and appointed by the Parti Socialiste (PS) as Alderman of Finance and Public Cleaning in the City of Brussels. He is a man of practice and files, strongly committed to his municipality.
Anas Ben Abdelmoumen comes from a working-class background and has lived in Neder-Over-Heembeek since 1997. He is married and the father of two children. During his studies at the Faculty of Political Science of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, he practised various professions. After graduating, he held various positions in government institutions, including the Brussels Parliament and the FPS Economy. He then became economic adviser to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Employment, Pierre-Yves Dermagne.
In 2018, Anas Ben Abdelmoumen joined the City Council for the first time. There, he distinguished himself by his commitment to the local economy, employment, housing and mobility. In 2024, he was re-elected and joined the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, specifically as Alderman of Finance and Public Cleaning. In this position, he is committed to a cleaner, more pleasant and inclusive city. In doing so, he combines awareness-raising with enforcement measures when necessary. He ensures fair and strategic financing for priority investments.
True to his values and commitment, Anas Ben Abdelmoumen remains close to citizens, convinced that listening and proximity are the keys to an effective and inclusive policy.
