On Thursday 30 January 2020, from 4 pm to 9 pm, at the Grand-Place.
At this historic moment for the United Kingdom, the City of Brussels wants to recall the long friendship between the people of Brussels and the British. From 4 pm there will be British music on the Grand-Place: the Celtic Seven, the Celtic Passion Pipe Band, the Hitchhikers and the High Trees (with bagpipes and other traditional instruments). The facades of the Grand-Place will be lit up in the colours of the Union Jack.
Red telephone box and London cab
You can also film yourself and share the video in an authentic red telephone box, with Sherlock Holmes and Watson on the lookout. Or take a selfie with a London taxi standing in the courtyard of the City Hall.
Manneken-Pis will be wearing his John Bull costume again. That British costume was offered on 24 April 1972.
