To mark Europe Day, the City of Brussels and the International European Movement invite you to a debate focusing on the major challenges facing the European project and its future.

In an international context marked by geopolitical crises, economic tensions and profound changes, Europe is called upon to assert its place, its voice and its capacity for action.

This debate will bring together leading European figures to discuss key questions: 

  • How to strengthen Europe's sovereignty and competitiveness?
  • What role should the European Union play in a changing world?
  • How can we respond to democratic, economic and geopolitical challenges?

Speakers

  • Guy Verhofstadt, former Prime Minister of Belgium and former group leader in the European Parliament.
  • Josep Borrell, former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

With a special appearance by Vitali Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv.

The debate will be conducted mainly in French and moderated by Aurélie Didier, Deputy Editorial Director of News at RTBF.
