First street art painting in Neder-Over-Heembeek

In collaboration with the Festival Cinéma Méditerranéen of Brussels, the City of Brussels unveils a new work realized by the Egyptian artist Ammar at the Rue Wimpelberg 40 in Neder-Over-Heembeek.

Ammar, a former teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Luxor, was invited to Brussels for the screening of the documentary Rester Vivants. The artist liked to include the suggestions of the residents of the neighborhood in his work of art. His main intention was to investigate street art techniques such as 'glitch' and 'pixelation'. The main concept of the mural painting is the distortion of perception, the global atmosphere that of Sufism.
