Coronavirus measures

The City of Brussels has taken several decisions in order to best respect the measures of the federal government in the fight against the coronavirus (Covid-19). Please note: at the Administrative Centre & liaison offices, all citizens are asked to come alone, maximum 15 minutes before the appointment time, wear a face mask (obligatory) and disinfect their hands.


Heat wave plan is ready!

The City of Brussels set up a new heat wave plan for the summer. People who suffer from isolation or who are in a precarious situation can take their precautions and register at 0800 35 550 (during office hours).

Since 2005, the CPAS of the City of Brussels, with the support of the municipal authorities and the police, operates a 'Heat wave plan'.

The heat wave plan

As soon as the temperature exceeds 28 degrees Celsius, teams of the Community centres activate the 'Heat wave plan'. The main objective of Neighbourhood centres is to fight against isolation and solitude of weakened persons. Once the plan is activated, the team will:

  • have regular contact with the registered people
  • distribute jars and flasks
  • check the well-being of the registered persons
  • check the living conditions inside the house
