Heat wave plan

Heat wave plan

The City of Brussels sets up a heat wave plan each summer. People who suffer from isolation or who are in a precarious situation can take their precautions and register at 0800 35 550 (during office hours).

Call 0800 35 550, free of charge

Are you isolated, discriminated, unemployed, disabled or old? Or do you know a person with these difficulties? Then register at 0800 35 550 (during office hours), free of charge.

Hearing impaired people or people who cannot express themselves can e-mail to info@lmdq.brussels.

Heat wave assistance?

As soon as the temperature exceeds 28 degrees Celsius for 3 consecutive days, teams of the Community Centres activate the 'Heat wave plan'. The main objective of the Community Centres is to fight against isolation and solitude of weakened persons. Once the plan is activated, the team will:

  • have regular contact with the registered people
  • distribute jars and flasks
  • check the well-being of the registered persons
  • check the living conditions inside the house

Registration via the free number: 0800 35 550 (during office hours)
