Manneken-Pis and the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

On 30 July 2023, from 9 am to 6 pm, Manneken-Pis will wear his costume (blue heart) offered by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

He wears the costume as part of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

'Blue Heart' campaign

The 'blue heart' is recognised as the international symbol of the fight against human trafficking. Belgium, like 32 other countries, joined the 'Blue Heart' campaign in July 2019.

The theme of this year's World Day is 'Every victim of human trafficking counts, leave no one behind':

Lighting of the Grand-Place and awareness raising stand

On this occasion, the City Hall of Brussels (Grand-Place - 1000 Brussels) will be illuminated on the evening of Sunday 30 July 2023.

At the Europakruispunt, opposite the Central Station, there will be an awareness-raising stand of the association External site PAG-ASA, which offers help to victims of human trafficking.
