Fireworks - New Year's Eve 2020

On Tuesday 31 December 2019, from 9:30 pm to 1 am, at the Esplanade of the Atomium.
The City of Brussels celebrates New Year's Eve with fireworks from Palais 5 at the Heysel. Spectators are allowed to watch from the Esplanade of the Atomium.
Please note: spectators are asked to arrive no later than 11 pm.

Access and safety measures
From 6 pm, the event site will be completely closed to the public as the final touches are made. It will be accessible from 9:30 pm via the following entrances only:
- access A: Avenue de Bouchout
- access B: Avenue de l'Atomium
- access C: Avenue du Gros Tilleul
- access D: Place Saint-Lambert, at the bottom of Boulevard du Centenaire
Bag checks will be made at the entrances. To facilitate access to the site, backpacks and large items will not be allowed. The police have also banned glass bottles, dangerous objects and the private use of firecrackers and fireworks.

Traffic measures
The following areas will be closed to traffic from 31 December at 7 am to 1 January at 5 am:
- Boulevard du Centenaire
- Esplanade and Avenue de Miramar
- Avenue Impératrice Charlotte
- Avenue de Bouchout
- Avenue de l'Atomium
The police may decide to close other streets nearby.
Public transport
It is recommended to use the Brussels public transport (STIB). This STIB transport is free from midnight. More info:
Noctis buses will ride from 0:30 am to 5 am in the morning (one bus every thirty minutes).
Accessibility for disabled
A disabled parking will be available for disabled card holders on the Avenue de Bouchout (via Avenue Houba de Strooper). They will be able to visit the event site via a disabled-friendly entrance at access A (Avenue de Bouchout). A specific viewing area will be provided in zone 2 (150 m from access A).

Parking
If you really must drive, Parking C will be open free of charge from 5 pm via the Ring and/or Chaussée Romaine. The public will exit on foot via the Chaussée Romaine (corner with Star Casino) to join access B via Avenue de Madrid and Avenue de l'Atomium.
