Redevelopment works at the Brucity area
The project consists of the redesign of the area around the new Brucity building (Hallenstraat, Zwarte Lievevrouwstraat, Visverkopersstraat, Augustijnenstraat, and parts of Kiekenmarkt, Lakensestraat, Sint-Katelijneplein, and Bisschopsstraat) with the aim of better connecting the different neighbourhoods and creating a homogeneous whole.
The entire project will take 1.5 years. These works are divided into several phases:

Next stages of the works
The redevelopment works are continuing. Below you will find the next stages of the project, also shown on the plan:
1. Rue de Laeken between Rue des Augustins and Rue de l'Evêque - roadway + pavement on even side: from early April to 18 May 2024. No impact on traffic.
2. Place Sainte-Catherine - roadway between Place du Samedi and Rue de Laeken: from 8 April to 14 June 2024. Traffic will be interrupted on this section during this phase until 14 June 2024. The pavement on the even side has been completed.
3. Rue de Laeken/Rue de l'Evêque junction: from 21 May to 15 July 2024. From 14 June, traffic coming from Place Sainte-Catherine will be diverted to Rue de Laeken (left turn required). It will be compulsory to use Rue de l'Evêque when coming from Rue de Laeken and Rue des Augustins.
4. Rue de la Vierge Noire - crossroads + small square between Rue Melsens and Rue Joseph Plateau: from 21 May to 15 July 2024. Traffic disruption in the Rue de la Vierge Noire. Same traffic modifications as during phase 3.
5. Rue de l'Evêque: September 2024.
6. Rue de Laeken area behind the Multi Tower: October 2024.
7. A) Dansaert/Chartreux/Van Artevelde/Rue du Pont de la Carpe junction - pavements: from 21 May to mid-July 2024. No impact on traffic. A specific communication on this subject will be sent prior to the worksite with more information.
B) Dansaert/Chartreux/Van Artevelde/Rue du Pont de la Carpe junction - roadworks: from 5 August to early September 2024. Traffic will be interrupted at the Rue Van Artevelde. The Rue des Poissonniers will be reopened to traffic. A specific communication on this phase will be sent at a later date.
Since 15 April, part of the Rue des Augustins between the Rue de Laeken and Interparking is a two-way street.
Pedestrians, cyclists, people with reduced mobility and access to shops and homes will be guaranteed throughout the works. The STIB's 46, 89 and Noctis bus lines and the De Lijn buses will resume their pre-construction routes from September.
This schedule of works is subject to favourable weather conditions.
