The procedure of registration for schools in the City of Brussels is different according to the language of the school: Dutch-language or French-language.
The City of Brussels has French-language schools and Dutch-language schools. The procedure of inscription for both differ.
French-language schools
French-language nursery and primary schools
For the French-language schools of the City of Brussels, the registrations take place in 3 phases:
- Phase 1: from 1 to 12 December 2025, registration of priority pupils
- Phase 2: from 7 to 30 January 2026, registration of non-priority pupils are recorded in order of arrival via the Irisbox platform or by telephone
- Phase 3: from 2 February 2026, registration requests should be sent to the schools

French-language secondary schools
Between 2 February and 6 March 2026, parents of pupils in Brussels will be able to enrol their child in the first year of secondary school.
You will have to fill in the 'FUI', the Single Registration Form, issued by your child's primary school.

Dutch-language schools
Registrations in Dutch-language schools are the same for the whole Brussels Capital Region.
Dutch-language nursery and primary schools
- 19 to 30 January 2026: parents must register siblings of enrolled pupils online. Children of school staff are also registered online at External siteInschrijven in Brussel
- 4 to 11 February 2026: enroll registered siblings and children of staff.
- 24 February to 17 March 2026: parents have to register their child at External siteInschrijven in Brussel
- 27 April to 12 May 2026: enroll your registered child.
- 21 May 2026: free registrations
