The Strange Lift

The lifts at the Place Poelaert house 'The Strange Lift' (L'Ascenseur de l'Étrange), an audiovisual installation that immerses you in a surreal world: fish, flying elephants, floating clouds and soap bubbles appear as if by magic against a background of blue sky, creating a captivating and enchanting show.

The lift of the Marolles is the link between the shopping quarters of the upper and lower town. The transformation into The Strange Lift completes the Surrealist Marolles project, marking the 125th anniversary of René Magritte's birth.
