MyBXL maintenance and telephone accessibility

Due to maintenance works, the citizen portal External site MyBXL may be interrupted on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November. Tags and graffiti removal

The removal of tags and graffiti is possible from private buildings, public buildings and street furniture.

The City of Brussels offers its residents a free service for the removal of graffiti from the façades of private buildings, subject to certain conditions set out in the regulations.

The City undertakes to carry out the works as soon as possible, depending on the weather and technical conditions, following a request for removal and a written authorization provided by the owner or building management company. This authorization (PDF, 245.73 KB) is a waiver and is valid for five years.

Conditions

  • The property must be a private building used exclusively for housing.
  • The property must be located in the City of Brussels.
  • The applicant must be the owner of the property or obtain an authorization signed by the owner or building management company.

Exceptions

The service does not apply to listed buildings. If necessary, the owner must have the graffiti removed at his/her own expense.

The City of Brussels offers a tag and/or graffiti removal service on public buildings (buildings belonging to the City, monuments managed by the City) or on street furniture managed by the City.

Conditions

The tag or graffiti must be on a building or a public monument belonging to the City of Brussels or on street furniture belonging to the City.

Exceptions

In the case of private buildings, the owner or trustee of the joint tenancy can ask the City to remove the tags or graffiti free of charge.
