The museum regularly enriches its collections thanks to donations from the people of Brussels. By actively collecting, it brings together objects that document and celebrate the diversity of this cosmopolitan city, where people from all over the world live together and build the history of tomorrow together.
Mosaic of stories and objects
A call for donations was launched in 2024, which led to a mosaic of stories and objects full of meaning. These varied contributions reveal intimate and universal aspects of the migrations that have marked Brussels: a Swiss coffee set, tools from a Russian typesetting workshop, a craft beer from 100PAP, a bronze sculpture of the dog Zinneke and a Polaroid camera of the well-known film maker Chantal Akerman.
The exhibition highlights a selection of these personal objects.
