Looking for a new fridge? Choose a fridge of energy class A, B or C! These are the most efficient and it will also help you save on your electricity bill. Depending on your income, the City of Brussels gives an upgraded version of its premium to help you with this important purchase.
To qualify for the municipal premium, you must meet the following conditions:
- The natural person applying for the premium must be domiciled on the territory of the City of Brussels
- Have purchased a new refrigerator of energy class A, B or C
- Have BIM status (beneficiary of an increased allowance) or belong to the low-income category, so incomes lower than or equal to
- 35,782.80 euros per year for a single person, or
- 50,782.80 euros per year for a married couple or legal cohabitants
The amount of the municipal premium is set at a maximum of 400 euros, with a bonus of 100 euros for households of 4 persons or more. The amount of the premium cannot exceed 50 per cent of the purchase price of the fridge (including the Recupel contribution).
Good to know: dismantling, disposal of the old fridge, delivery and installation of the new appliance are not included in the calculation of the premium.
Complete the application form (768.70 KB) for the municipal premium and send it, along with the required documents, to urb.primes@brucity.be within 3 months of purchasing the fridge.
- Copy of the purchase invoice (marked 'for receipt', the date and signature of the seller), or the receipt or any other proof of payment for the fridge
- Copy of the refrigerator's energy label
- Copy of the latest available assessment notice regarding the income of all adult persons in the household or proof of the BIM status of the person applying for the premium
