Borrow or rent reusable packaging for your events

Organisers of events in public spaces must use reusable solutions and set up a reuse system. The City of Brussels provides various solutions and informs you on how to obtain reusable packaging (cups, crockery,...) and comply with these obligations.

Anyone organising an event, whether public or private, in the Brussels-Capital Region can submit an application to Rock the City to borrow or hire reusable packaging.

Hiring (general case)

The packaging is available for a fee, in accordance with the rates set out in the Rock the City catalogue.

Free loan (specific cases)

A free loan may be considered, within the available budgets, for:

  • events organised by the City or a municipal non-profit organisation
  • events receiving a grant from the City
  • non-commercial events permitted in public spaces

Cleaning

The containers are delivered clean and may be returned dirty.

Cleaning must be carried out by Rock the City or a designated service provider, and will be charged at cost price.

Submitting an application

Via External siteRock the City:

  • at least 14 days before the event (more than 20,000 items of packaging)
  • at least 5 days before the event (20,000 or fewer packaging)

Organisers may also engage specialist service providers offering reuse solutions.

Depending on the service provider, the services may include:

  • rental of cups or tableware
  • collection and return of packaging
  • cleaning
  • logistics management (transport, storage,...)

These solutions make it possible to set up a complete reuse system and are particularly suitable for medium to large events.
