City of Brussels joins Deposit Alliance
On Monday 13 February 2023, the City of Brussels passed a motion on the introduction of deposits on PET bottles and cans. It therefore joined the Deposit Alliance ('Statiegeldalliantie - Alliance pour la Consigne').
Deposits, as we already know for glass bottles, are a logical and easy solution to keep our living environment pleasant and clean.
The Deposit Alliance has been campaigning for the introduction of deposits on plastic cans and bottles since 2017. Together, municipalities, partner organisations and companies want to urge politicians to persevere and quickly introduce the deposit system through interregional decrees and cooperation agreements:
