Every year, from late January to April, amphibians go out to mate in the ponds of Neder-Over-Heembeek, next to the Mandela Stadium. A group of volunteers lend a hand to help the toads, frogs and salamanders cross.
In 2025, volunteer efforts saved more than a thousand amphibians. The 'SOS Amphibies NOH' collective is seeking new volunteers for the 2026 season.
