Horticulteurs project - Construction of housing

What is it about?

The Property Management Agency of the City of Brussels plans to build 14 housing units, 5 single-family homes and 9 apartments, near the Boulevard Émile Bockstael.

Horticulteurs project - Construction of housing

The street-facing building, which will house the apartments, will be integrated between the existing terraced houses. The project also extends into the interior of the block, where it continues the built-up frontage of the houses perpendicular to Rue Médori with additional single-family homes. These homes will be accessible via a passage at the Rue des Horticulteurs reserved for pedestrians and cyclists, making the interior of the block inaccessible to cars.

The garden area, located between the buildings on the street and those within the block, will be primarily intended for shared use. It will be designed to encourage interaction among residents and provide access to the homes at the rear.

An underground car park with 14 spaces (one per unit) is planned. Part of the parking area will be developed as a terrace or green roof.

The project fully complies with legal requirements regarding the Energy Performance of Buildings (EPB). This includes optimised thermal insulation and a reduced ecological footprint, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly living environment.

What purpose?

This project aims to meet the following ambitions and objectives:

  • To guarantee affordable housing for all
  • To transform municipal and public buildings into key players in improving the urban climate
