What is it about?
This project is part of the Versailles district contract, an action plan agreed between the Brussels-Capital regional authority and the City of Brussels, aimed at improving the living environment in a poorer neighbourhood through public space, property and socio-economic projects. It is being carried out with the support of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

At the junction of Allée des Moutons and Rue de la Tour Japonaise, on the regional border with Flanders, the Brussels public welfare centre (CPAS) is planning a project to build 30 homes for the elderly and single-parent families. These homes will be specially adapted to meet the needs of households that often have difficulty finding affordable housing in the region.
The project will also include a community space on the ground floor, designed to encourage socialising and community life. This space will also be open to local residents.
The project aims to achieve exemplary energy performance and a high level of environmental integration, taking into account the specific characteristics of the site.
What purpose?
This project meets the following ambitions and objectives:

- Rationalising the management and use of communal sites by applying the concept of chrono-urbanism
- Encouraging the reconcentration of the city's facilities and services within multi-purpose, shared neighbourhood facilities hubs
- Addressing the lack of public facilities
- Converting municipal and public buildings into key players in improving the urban climate
