BRUCE wins the Agoria Digital Society Award 2025 for user-friendliness

The City of Brussels is honoured to receive this prestigious award for BRUCE, Brussels Embraces You. BRUCE includes the inclusive, multilingual MyBXL platform that makes it easier for citizens and newcomers to access information and services.

The External siteAgoria Digital Society Awards aim to reward the best IT projects in public services. BRUCE, developed by the City of Brussels, won the award in the user-friendliness category.

This success is the result of a collaboration between our City's administrative teams, i-CITY, the City's IT department, technology partners including Inetum, and the people of Brussels who inspire us every day.

FEDER, the European Regional Development Fund, also supports the MyBXL citizen portal and the development of BRUCE. This enables us to build an increasingly accessible, open and sustainable city.

What is BRUCE ?

The video shows the BRUCE project (the video is available in French with subtitles in Dutch, the transcription is available below the video):

In Brussels, digital transformation is a daily reality. With the BRUCE (Brussels Embraces You) project, the City of Brussels is putting user-friendliness and humanity at the heart of the smart city.

The BRUCE vision, conceived by the City of Brussels and implemented by i-CITY with the support of Inetum, offers an inclusive omnichannel experience for everyone: citizens, visitors and businesses.

Since its launch, more than a million transactions have been carried out and half of all interactions with digitised processes now take place outside office hours.

Upon logging in, users select their context (personal, family, professional) and are guided step by step through a clear and accessible interface.

Making an appointment, following up on a file, signing or paying online: everything is done in just a few clicks and is completely secure.

Each action receives immediate feedback. As a result, 40% of interactions are digitised, reducing queues and travel. This represents a saving of 230 tonnes of CO2 per year.

BRUCE also stands for inclusion. Interactive kiosks, digital assistants and multilingual support ensure that everyone has access to the service, regardless of their digital skills.

For the administration, BRUCE optimises processes, automates tasks and strengthens trust through transparency.

And tomorrow? BRUCE continues to evolve. Soon, a multichannel Digital Contact Centre will offer even more personalised human and virtual support, accessible anywhere, anytime.

BRUCE stands for user-friendliness with a new look. A 360-degree citizen experience that is already inspiring other European cities.

Brussels is embracing the future together with Europe. Are you?
