On Sunday 20 September 2026, Brussels organises its traditional Car Free Sunday. From 9:30 am to 7 pm, the entire Brussels-Capital Region will become a vast space dedicated to pedestrians, cyclists and other users of soft mobility.
On this day, motorised traffic will be prohibited, with the exception of vehicles granted an exemption.
A unique opportunity to (re)discover Brussels in a different light, in a quieter and more peaceful city.
A wide range of activities are planned for the day so you can make the most of the car-free public spaces.
Discover the External siteprogramme of activities organised across the Brussels-Capital Region.
By car, you can reach Brussels via the motorways and the Ring, which will remain open to traffic. Only the exits leading into the Brussels-Capital Region will be closed.
You can then park your vehicle in a External sitepark-and-ride car park.
Please do consider travelling by train on the day.
