Disability Week

This event has already passed

From 24 November to 3 December 2023 at various locations in Brussels.

The main aim of the Disability Week of the City of Brussels is to:

  • enable people with disabilities to take part in cultural and sporting activities in Brussels in the same way as everyone else
  • support associations active in the field of disability
  • raise public awareness of the importance of opening up public places to everyone, by making as many of the events as possible accessible

Partners of the Disability Week

A number of cultural institutions have decided to become partners of the Disability Week. The City of Brussels is working with Bozar, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts, Cinéma Palace, Cinematek, Beursschouwburg, Théâtre les Tanneurs, Théâtre Royal du Parc and La Monnaie.

Various initiatives have been taken to adapt their programming to different types of disability: audio description of films for the visually impaired, guided tours in sign language for the hearing impaired, quiet areas for people with sensitivities,...

The Disability Week is also organised in partnership with a wide network of associations active in the field of disability, offering a whole range of activities for children and adults.
